Justin Barbour and Thomas N. Cammack, III presented on the topic, “Creating Precedent in Unprecedented Times: Returning to Work and Navigating the ‘New Normal'” via a Schmoyer Reinhard LLP webinar on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In this webinar, they discussed the legal issues employers are likely to encounter when faced with unforeseen circumstances and as their workforces return to work, or return to in-office work, during the ongoing pandemic. Our discussion emphasized the ways in which the ADA, FMLA, OSH Act, Texas Labor Code, and other labor and employment laws relate to employers’ policies on vaccination, testing, time off requests, pay, reasonable accommodations, worker’s compensation, remote work arrangements, and the like.
Additionally, they discussed President Biden’s new Executive Orders and their impact and future implications on employers as well as employment law lessons learned during our recent weather crisis.
