John A. Ferguson, Jr. Joins Schmoyer Reinhard and Justin Barbour Is Promoted to Partner at Schmoyer Reinhard

Schmoyer Reinhard is pleased to announce John A. Ferguson, Jr. has joined the firm as a Partner, and Justin Barbour has been promoted to a Partner at the firm.

Mr. Ferguson’s practice concentrates on all aspects of labor and employment law, including traditional labor relations, litigation, arbitration, and counseling. Mr. Ferguson has over 30 years of experience in traditional labor relations law, especially the National Labor Relations Act. He has tried numerous unfair labor practice complaints to decision before the NLRB, and has represented employers in the appeal of those decisions in federal courts of appeals. He has guided employers through all aspects of the NLRB’s union representation election process. He has also arbitrated to award numerous union grievances before labor arbitrators for private as well as public sector employers and has served as lead negotiator for employers in the negotiation and renegotiation of collective bargaining agreements.

Prior to joining the firm as Partner, Mr. Ferguson was a counsel with the international law firm of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP in the San Antonio office. Mr. Ferguson is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Justin Barbour has been with the firm since 2008, and his practice focuses on the representation of employers in all aspects of employment litigation in federal and state courts, as well as in private arbitrations. Mr. Barbour regularly counsels, advises, and provides training to his clients on the foregoing issues, as well as on workplace policy and legal compliance issues. He represents clients of all sizes, including private, publicly held, governmental, quasi-governmental, and non-profit entities.
