Schmoyer Reinhard is pleased to announce Lauren C. Howell has joined the firm as an associate. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Howell spent over two years as an associate in San Antonio where her practice focused primarily on commercial litigation.
Ms. Howell’s practice includes representing management in all aspects of labor and employment law in state and federal courts. Prior to working in labor and employment law, Ms. Howell represented clients in commercial and civil litigation disputes, advised on corporate compliance, and crafted small business and individual estate plans. Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Howell was a civil litigation paralegal for five years.
Ms. Howell grew up in Houston, Texas. She graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University in College Station in 2013. She then enrolled in the University of Houston Paralegal Certificate Program. Thereafter, Ms. Howell worked as a paralegal in Houston and San Antonio before deciding to further her legal career by attending St. Mary’s University School of Law, which she graduated from in 2021.
During law school, Ms. Howell had the pleasure of working as a legal intern with Valero Energy Corporation, for the Honorable Judge Craig A. Gargotta of the Western District of Texas, and with multiple San Antonio law firms. She simultaneously served as the Managing Executive Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal and the President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. Ms. Howell was also selected for publication with the St. Mary’s Law Journal; as a research assistant for Labor Law and Civil Procedure; and as a teaching assistant for Labor Law, Administrative Law, Torts, Criminal Law, and Legal Writing courses.
